Anna Maria Perez De Tagle gets tangled up with costar Paul Iacono in the June 2009 issue of Vanity Fair magazine.
Fame’s new faces — Anna, Paul, Kay Panabaker, Asher Book, Kherington Payne, Naturi Naughton, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez, Paul Mcgill and Kristy Flores — are all introduced in the issue.
The excerpt says, “One unintentionally refreshing upshot of a global financial meltdown is that kids may well choose to sing and dance again rather than pursue lucrative Wall Street jobs. Fame — the well-timed remake of the 1980 Oscar-winning movie may be the perfect elixir for our collective bailout blues.”

Fame starlets Kay Panabaker and Kristy Flores strike a pose together as they finish the first round of promo in New York City.
Kay, 18, recently wrote in her MySpace confirming that she does not Twitter, saying, “There has been some talk about Twitter. This is so foreign to me!!! I do not have one, nor do I have any interest in getting one. I have a difficult time keeping up with my day to day business that trying to keep other people updated on my life would be impossible. There is one poser that I know about. This person has fooled even friends of mine, so I don’t doubt they are convincing. If I do end up getting a Twitter or anything that would give you guys more access to me, I will of course notify you. Sorry for any confusion!!”
“Fame is pretty much done filming. We finished February 21 in New York!!! It was amazing to be in the Big Apple!! The only thing that was a little difficult was the cold. But it was beautiful and such a wonderful experience. I was very sad when it was over. I cried when we wrapped in LA and I cried when we wrapped in NY. I still see a lot of the cast, but not the crew as much. Some of the cast (myself included) will have to go back to NY in the next couple months to shoot some more scenes.
“One question I keep hearing from you guys is who my character is. I play Jenny, a singer and actress who has a hard time letting go of her nerves. Fame follows each character over the 4 years of high school, so you will get to see Jenny’s growth through her clothes, hair, make up, mannerisms, and her artistic side.
“As far as other projects go, I did a pilot for CBS at the end of March. I don’t know if it will get picked up, but we shall see!! Also, I did have an address where fan mail was sent and I would read and respond. I no longer have the time to do that. I apologize. I will try to be better about updating this MySpace.

Kay Panabaker and Make It or Break It star Zachary Abel hang out backstage at the LA Art and Antique Show benefiting P.S. Arts in Santa Monica on Wednesday evening (April 22).
P.S. ARTS is a non-profit organization that restores arts education programs to some of the most disadvantaged public schools in Southern and Central California.
Kay, 18, will be hitting the big screen soon as Jenny in Fame. Fame opens in theaters on September 25.

Kay Panabaker is 17 Again

Kay Panabaker shows off the blue streak in her hair as she arrives at the 17 Again premiere held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday night (April 14).
The 19-year-old actress used to star alongside 17 Again leading man Zac Efron in the WB’s Summerland.
Fame costars Anna Maria Perez De Tagle, Kherington Payne and Asher Book also showed up to support the film.

Anna Maria, 18, shared on her official website about the cast: “It’s not just the cast that pulls pranks but the CREW does also. This crew is so friendly and fun. Kay Panabaker (who plays Jenny) and I would take clothes pins and clip them onto the some of the crews’ clothes and just make a tail of them - almost like tagging. Once they saw what Kay and I were doing, THEY did it to others too! It was hilarious!
“Also Paul McGill (who plays Kevin) and I were rehearsing in Kay’s trailer and we were pulling the bed down and he hopped on the end of it…the bed BROKE! Paul and I then left a note from ‘Goldilocks’ saying the bed was too flimsy. That’s actually what’s so cool about this cast and what we have in common… we’re not afraid to laugh with and at each other.”
Fame hits theaters on September 25.
